The City Clerk's Office serves as a document and information resource to City Council, all city departments, and to the citizens of the city. The Mayor, with the advice and consent of Council, appoints the City Clerk.
The City Clerk is responsible for: prviding staff support to City Council and maintaing custody, control, filing, and storage of all legislation, papers, minutes, and other written and recordered doccuments pertaining to the operation of the city government. The City Clerk is also the keeper of the City Seal and is charged with sealing and attesting all of Council's actions. The City Clerk also recieves all formal communications addresed to Council and presents the documents.
Dave Kurcina and has been a resident of Follansbee his entire life. Dave's parents are Ange Kurcina and the late Michael Kurcina. He is a 1983 graduate of Brooke High School and a 1986 graduate of Jefferson Technical College. Dave is married to the former Lesley Haught and has beautiful two children, Lindsay and Michael.
He is currently employed at Wheeling-Nisshin as a Computer Programmer. He was hired in January of 1988 as a Production Scheduler, then transferred to his current position in 1992.
Over the past years he have been involved in the Follansbee Little League, Brooke County Youth Basketball League, Follansbee Youth Basketball League and the Follansbee Girls Softball League. Dave is also currently a registered Basketball and Football Official in the states of Ohio and West Virginia. He became the City Clerk in 2001 upon the resignation of long time City Clerk Jim Mirasola.
